In a press release, the Railways Ministry clarified that it has not issued any protocol concerning passenger journey throughout put up lockdown interval. The ministry stated that when determination will likely be taken then all stakeholders will likely be knowledgeable.

“Ministry of Railways has not issued any protocol concerning passenger journey throughout put up lockdown interval, as has been incorrectly reported in some media studies,” the railways ministry tweeted.

“As and when a call is taken, all stakeholders can be intimated. Please don’t be guided by any deceptive report,” it stated.

The clarification got here after some media studies printed particulars of protocols that will likely be adopted for passenger journey after the lockdown is lifted. On April 8, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Company (IRCTC), the ticketing arm of Indian Railways, had introduced suspension of the reserving of its three personal trains until 30 April. The bookings have been cancelled for Tejas Categorical between Ahmedabad-Mumbai and Delhi-Lucknow together with the Kashi Mahakal Categorical that runs from Varanasi to Indore.
