Motorola Razr finally has a launch date in India. Motorola has begun sending out media invites for an event scheduled to take place on March 16. The modern take on the Motorola Razr was previewed in India recently by the company, where we managed to get our hands on the device. Moto Razr was launched back in November last year and debuted in the US exclusively via Verizon. In India, the company could launch the unlocked version of the Moto Razr. Samsung recently launched the Galaxy Z Flip in India, which will be the only competition for the Razr.

Motorola Razr Price in India

Motorola has not announced the pricing of the Razr yet, but the launch event is when the things will get clear. If we go by the US pricing of the Motorola Razr, which is $1,500, it could cost around Rs 1,10,000 in India. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip is priced at Rs 1,09,999, which is in line with the expected pricing of the Motorola Razr. The company, however, may choose to undercut Samsung with a lower pricing.

Motorola Razr Specifications

The Motorola Razr comes with a foldable design with two displays a 6.20-inch screen on the inside with a resolution of 876×2142 and a 2.7-inch screen on the outside with a 800×600 resolution. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that cannot be expanded externally. For optics, there is a 16-megapixel rear camera, having an aperture of f/1.7, a ToF camera, and a 5-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone runs Android 9.0 Pie and supports eSIM cards only. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the front, as well as connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, SUPL, and 4G VoLTE.

Motorola Razr Hands-on

In our brief time with the Motorola Razr some days back, we found that while the Motorola Razr is a novel device, it is not ready for mature markets that have exemplified it is insensible for buyers to go for a phone that is potentially incompetent in front of high-specced phones such as the iPhone 11 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. But Motorola has a decent loyal base that will want the device, no matter if it is something that is nothing more than a showpiece for its price. After all, Samsung’s first foldable phone, the Galaxy Fold saw its units sold out consecutively despite a hefty price tag of Rs 1,64,999 in India. Here’s what we noted in our first impressions of the Moto Razr:

It’s for those who want to celebrate the idea of mobile connectivity fused with exceptional style and portability. It is for those who want an accessory to compliment their lifestyle. It’s for those who keep the phone on the desk while sipping coffee on the work desk. It’s for those who love flaunting. It’s for those who marvel the idea of a flexible display. In short, the Razr is for those who love smartphones.
